There can also be the argument made that the second Gene Vincent album ("Gene Vincent And The Blue Caps") is actually the true first Punk album. Listen to "Cat Man" and "Hold Me Hug Me Rock Me" and tell me that is anything BUT the beginnings of Punk.

I was there with you when you got that 12" i think. Hell yeah they could cover a Doo Wap Song and make it there own. Johnny also started his own sound which not many guitarist can claim i think. The soul of the band dropped when Dee Dee left i think. "Half Way to Sanity" was there swan song and they should have called it quits after that. It showed much the band has grown. And who ever green lighted the Dee Dee King record at Sire should have been shot. But Joey version of "What a Wonderful World" is the best cover i have ever heard. I thought that Nick Cave and Shane McGowan did a great job on it, Joey's version was so heart felt. It's like you could tell it was over for the man.

<font size="4" face="Arial">the funny thing about that statement is that we opened for the ramones once and they were nothing but holier than thou dicks while i also sat in a bar one night with Jonathan from Korn and he was one of the nicest human beings i ever met.

Well, I think Johnny and gang are dying due to something called getting older. No, 50's is not "old" exactly, but there are a few miles on those guys, and they have lived to excess in many ways. Korn are all still pretty young.

I have also heard that Johnathan from Korn is a really nice guy. But I have also heard that the bassist and drummer are MORE than the "holier than thou" types of people.

    Ironically enough, Jonathan's bejewelled Adidas
outfits are probably the most glamorous thing on
    music TV.

Never liked The Ramones' valium-punk dirge.
